E-IDCOT’s Business Incubator Service to support IBIS

Following the launch of the National Integrated Business Incubator System (IBIS) in October 2011, E-IDCOT is now engaged in discussions with the Ministry of Labour and Small and Micro Enterprise Development (MLSMED) and the programme’s implementation agency, the National Entrepreneurship Development Company Limited (NEDCO) on the part E-IDCOT and in particular the Cove Eco-Industrial and Business Park can play in facilitating the growth and expansion of Tobago’s entrepreneurial class.

IBIS is an initiative of the Ministry of Labour and Small and Micro Enterprise Development and NEDCO to provide micro and small enterprises (MSEs) and communities with the necessary physical infrastructure, financing, operational support and networking to develop them into sustainable competitive businesses.

IBIS will adopt a collaborative approach between the public and private sectors in order to plan, manage and operate the system through the MLSMED, NEDCO, and other Government Ministries in alliance with training, academic and financial institutions, private sector partners and communities.

The highly anticipated incubator services that will be offered at the Cove Eco-Industrial and Business Park (CEIBP) have been identified by NEDCO as critical to the success of IBIS in Tobago. E-IDCOT’s Business Incubator will provide a nurturing environment for start-ups and fledgling entities in terms of shared affordable services for the early stage of the “start-up’s” development, such as readily accessible knowledge resources, management guidance, technical assistance, and consulting services tailored to young growing companies in the most modern and state-of-the-art facilities.
